Bloody Sunday Commemoration Updates


Here are the latest events planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bloody Sunday

Transilience – A specially commissioned painting by artist and former Dublin hurler David Sweeney on display in Croke Park yesterday.

 

 

Friday, August 21st, at 7pm there will a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Jimmy McNamara on the grounds of St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a plaque unveiling at the Cahir’s GAA grounds across the road. POSTPONED DUE TO THE LATEST GOVERNMENT HEALTH ADVICE 

Saturday, 22nd August, 3pm, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the graves of Frank Butler and Gus McCarthy in Fethard on the church grounds. This will be followed by a plaque unveiling at Fethard GAA grounds by Tony Newport followed by a speech from former Tipperary and Munster footballer Dinny Burke.

Thursday, 27th August, 7pm, in Clonmel there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of Tommy Powell in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.

Croke Park
