Conor Sweeney Named GAA Player of the Week


We extend our congratulations to Conor Sweeney who today was named as the Official GAA Player of the Week following his impressive performance against Longford on Saturday last in which he scored 2-7, 2-4 of which came from play.

Conor’s magnificent showing played a massive role in the outcome with Tipperary emerging victorious 3-17 to 0-18.

The result is decided by a public vote with people being able to make their choice via the GAA’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages. Conor received a whopping 47% of the final tally getting 1615 votes. Mark Bradley (Tyrone) won 31% of the vote with 1053 votes while Gearoid McKiernan (Cavan) was placed third with 22% and 707 votes.

In other news Tipperary had six players on the GAA team of the week with Alan Campbell, Jimmy Feehan, Robbie Kiely, Liam Casey, Josh Keane and Conor Sweeney all making the cut.
