Evans Searching for New Talent
24 Jul 2009Tipperary football manager John Evans will try to bring new players into the side for the 2010 league and championship campaigns.
Evans steered Tipp to an unlikely National Football League Division 3 title earlier this year, overcoming Down in a memorable decider.
The county’s championship summer ending disappointingly with defeat at home to Sligo in an All-Ireland qualifier last Saturday, and Evans admits the team needs an injection of new talent to maintain their progress.
He said: “We have set a very high standard for ourselves and where we will level out I don’t know. But the search will go on for new players and new heart to come into the side.
“The foundations are good and the stones we have built this team on will remain in place.”
Kerry native Evans confirmed this week that he would remain on for a third year in charge.
