Aherlow have announced the details of an exciting under-20 challenge match between Tipperary and Dublin to celebrate the opening of their new dressing rooms and pitch on Saturday May 12th with a throw-in time of 7pm.

These two counties have played some memorable games in the recent past including the dramatic All-Ireland minor decider in 2011 which took a phenomenal Colman Kennedy goal to secure the win for the Premier. Then there was the All-Ireland under-21 semi-final of 2015 which saw Tipperary qualify for their first ever appearance in an All-Ireland final at that grade.

We extend our best wishes to the Tipperary LGFA side who face Cavan on Sunday in the Lidl national football league division two final on Sunday in Parnell Park.

Shane Ronayne’s side have been in breathtaking form over the last eighteen months or so capturing the division three title last year before winning the All-Ireland intermediate championship. In the league semi-final things looked bleak as they trailed Armagh by nine-points early on in the second half but these ladies simply don’t know when they are beaten and they staged a remarkable comeback to snatch the win with Aishling Moloney and Kate Davey knocking over late points to secure their place in the decider this Sunday.

Best of luck to all involved.
