Friends of Tipperary Football

“If you work hard, stay focused and never give up, you will eventually get what you want in life.” Donald Miller

Last night’s game was another significant result in the modern history of Tipperary’s place in Gaelic Football. While we won’t lose sight of the fact that it was a league match in January there is a lot of satisfaction in beating Cork for the second time in three years, a statistic that for many decades seemed like an impossible dream.

There have been other great days of course. Winning league titles in 2009, 2014 and 2017 were memorable and our underage teams have seen some magical success. There was the big break through in 2010 when Ciaran McDonald led us to our very first under-21 title when we defeated Kerry in Tralee. Another under-21 title followed in 2015 and this added to our Munster minor titles of 2011 and 2012 and the most significant achievement in recent years, the All Ireland minor football title of 2011.

A lot of people have been working extremely hard to improve the lot of Tipperary football and to give our players the opportunity to be the best they can be.

There is no doubt that there is huge goodwill towards our Gaelic Footballers and many people are beginning to sit up and take notice.

Now is your chance to show these players that you value their dedication, commitment and desire to succeed by joining the Friends of Tipperary Football.
