Tipperary suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Cork in the opening round of the McGrath Cup on Thursday evening in Mallow as Cork’s Michael Hurley bagged three goals in a 3-19 to 0-14 scoreline.

Indeed, the 791 paying spectators witnessed his hat trick of goals in an opening half that saw the Rebels blitz Tipperary with a powerful display that Tipperary had no answer to. Tipperary’s next game is tomorrow, Sunday, in Clonmel against Kerry.
