Peter Creedon Fuming after Clarke’s Late Show – Independent.ie

Tipperary manager Peter Creedon was furious after Armagh snatched victory from this feisty encounter at the Athletic Grounds

Creedon was left stunned as Jamie Clarke swooped for two points deep in injury-time just when it seemed that Tipperary were about to head home with an unlikely win.

While acknowledging Clarke’s artistry, Creedon reserved his ire for referee David Coldrick.

“There were several dubious decisions including a penalty award, the red card shown to Robbie Kiely and the fact that additional injury-time was played when the referee had been informed time was up,” fumed Creedon.

His spirited Premier troops had remained on Armagh’s shoulder in the first half but a Clarke goal from a 34th minute penalty earned the home team’s 1-4 to 0-4 interval advantage.

Tipperary responded by sweeping over four third-quarter points with Colin O’Riordan and Conor Sweeney their ace marksmen before being reined in by a Mark Shields goal.

The visitors hit five more points on the bounce only for Clarke’s two late points to wrench the two points from their grasp.
