Tipperary senior football manager Liam Kearns has been boosted with two additions to his set up for 2018.
Firstly, after a two year absence Steven O’ Brien returns to the senior panel. O’ Brien was part of Michael Ryan’s senior hurling panel and was a part of the squad that landed Munster and All-Ireland honours in 2016.
The Ballina man is a decorated footballer having landed Munster and All-Ireland football minor medals in 2011 and a Munster under-21 medal in 2015 before going on to lose to Tyrone in the All-Ireland final by a solitary point. Steven also won a Croke Cup hurling title with Nenagh CBS in 2011 when they defeated Kilkenny CBS 3-10 to 2-11.
Speaking with Damien Lawlor, a thrilled Liam Kearns commented “We’ll be delighted to have Steven back. He is a fine footballer and he will give us strength and presence at midfield”.

Also coming into the set-up is former Offaly footballer Paschal Kellaghan. Kellaghan, who guilded Rhode to their 28th Offaly senior football title last Sunday, will assist with coaching duties. Kellaghan has huge experience having previously been involved with Ballinabrackey (Meath) and Monasterevin (Kildare).
Kellaghan joins a formidable backroom team which includes Paul Fitzgerald (Fethard), Shane Stapleton (Golden Kilfeacle), Brian Lacey (Arravale Rovers) and David Moriarty (Limerick).
We extend our best wishes to both Steven and Paschal for the upcoming year.
